The assignment? Go forth and find something that speaks to you of birth, and paint it. Outdoors. Using little 4 x 6 pieces of watercolor paper and a child’s watercolor set–you know the kind, the ones they gave us to paint with in kindergarten. I love these little boxes.
Oh, and for water? Use what you find where you are. On the first day (painting death) I was by a stream and scooped water from that. This day? Up in the woods among leaves and dirt. No water but spit.
You know what? Spit is weird to paint with, but it will do. It makes the paint sort of gluey and thick, and it takes ages and ages to dry, but it makes for some really vibrant colors.
And a really thirsty artist.
